The 45th edition of Arab Health – largest exhibition for healthcare in the MENA region and second-biggest worldwide – took place in Dubai from 27 to 30 January 2020. 4,250 companies (including 1,000 first-timers) exhibited at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, attracting more than 55,000 attendees from 159 countries to discover the newest innovations in healthcare and medicine. Well-known brands such as Siemens, GE and Canon presented their products in the “Imaging & Diagnostics” sector, not to mention the many household names in the other seven product categories.
Balzano Informatik showcased their AI solution, ScanDiags, a software providing augmented diagnosis from MRI for musculoskeletal conditions. The Arab Health exhibition offered a good platform to explore the UAE market and get a first impression of the healthcare sector in the fast-growing MENA region. Not only did we meet clinicians of renowned hospitals in the UAE during the 4-day event, but also healthcare professionals from promising markets such as Saudi Arabia, Oman and Pakistan. Our conversations/dialogue with healthcare professionals as well as market experts provided important insights which we will use to further develop our product and brand appearance according to the needs of our potential customers.

As a first-time exhibitor this year, our company benefitted from the excellent infrastructure of the SWISS Pavilion, which was located in the Trade Centre Arena within the “Medical Equipment & Devices” sector. The organizer, Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), promotes exports and investments on behalf of the Swiss Confederation and is guiding SME’s on the path to new markets. 43 companies were part of the SWISS Pavilion (two-thirds of all Swiss exhibitors at Arab Health), demonstrating the high demand of healthcare and medical companies wishing to present their products and services under the Swiss flag. S-GE ensured all exhibitors could focus on their potential and current clients. They achieved this by offering an attractive stand design, providing an inviting networking area, and maintaining a smoothly organized event from beginning to end.

The exhibition was topped off by an invitation from the new Consul General of Switzerland in Dubai, H.E. Frank Eggmann, to the Swiss Dinner Reception at Jumeirah Beach. The elegant, yet relaxed setting allowed Swiss exhibitors to exchange experiences with other companies, as well as converse with members of the Swiss Business Hub Dubai and S-GE about future ambitions in the MENA region.
We would like to thank S-GE for the organization and support during the exhibition and convey that we are looking forward to discussing further collaboration with all our booth visitors.
